Working with a Recruitment Agency
Recruitment agencies have access to roles with employers that sometimes never make it onto job boards—we call this the “hidden job market.” Our experienced Recruitment Consultants each specialize in particular area, and work with employers (our clients) to find the best match for their open jobs.
Below are some common questions job seekers have about working with a recruitment agency. You may also want to check out these myths about working with recruitment agencies.
Do you charge a fee?
There is no cost to job seekers to work with us. We are contracted by the employers we work with (our clients), and it is our job to find the best candidates to fit their needs. In fact, in Canada it is not legal for recruiters to charge a fee to candidates.
Is my information kept confidential?
The information you provide to The Headhunters is held in the strictest of confidence. Only with consultation and your permission will we present your resume to potential employers. For more information about data collection and storage, read our Privacy Policy.
Do you provide career advice?
Check out our Career Resources for tips and best practices related to your job search, including resumes, interviews, salary negotiations and more!
If you are looking to change career paths and need advice, we suggest searching online for career coaches or career counsellors. Our recruiters are not trained as career coaches, so it’s not within our expertise to provide this type of advising.
I'm from another country, can you help me get a job?
The majority of our jobs are located in Canada, and for those positions we are only able to work with individuals who are already legally eligible to work in Canada. Unfortunately, we cannot assist with job offers for express entry, sponsorship or immigration programs.
To learn more about available options to work in Canada, please refer to the Work in Canada information provided by the Government of Canada.
Occasionally we will have a job posted in the United States or another country—in those situations, please refer to the specific requirements in that job posting.
