The Human Touch: Why AI Isn’t Part of Our Core Recruitment Processes

In an era where artificial intelligence (AI) is making waves across industries, we are taking a deliberate stance: keeping our core recruitment processes decidedly human.

We understand the buzz around AI, and even help our clients find top talent for AI-related positions, but when it comes to recruitment, we remain committed to our human-centered approach. We believe that the complexities of modern workplaces and jobs make human insight and judgment even more crucial in the hiring process.

Our Approach: Humans First

Our personalized approach to recruitment includes:

1. Resume Screening:

The resumes we receive are reviewed by one of our Recruitment Consultants; we do not use AI or automation to screen resumes.

2. Candidate Pre-screening:

Our initial conversations with candidates are always conducted by our team. We believe that these early interactions are crucial for understanding a candidate’s aspirations, personality and fit for a role— aspects that AI simply can’t gauge effectively.

3. Interviews:

Whether it’s a preliminary phone screen or an in-depth discussion, all our interviews are conducted by real people. This allows for dynamic conversations, follow-up questions and the ability to read between the lines – skills that AI has yet to master.

The Value of Human Judgment

Our commitment to human-led recruitment stems from our belief in the irreplaceable value of human judgment. Georgia Harper, President at The Headhunters, says:

“Our recruiters bring years of experience and intuition, with a deep understanding of the needs of our clients and the subtle qualities that make a candidate stand out. This human insight allows us to make nuanced decisions that go beyond simply matching keywords or qualifications.”

Experienced recruiters are able to consider multiple factors that AI struggles with, including context, emotions, ambiguous or unpredictable situations and ethical considerations.

Embracing AI Where It Counts

While we keep artificial intelligence out of our core recruitment processes, we’re not technophobes. We recognize the value of AI, automation and other emerging technologies in enhancing our overall operations.

We use generative AI to augment activities like communications, planning or idea generation, but always with human review and personalization. Automation and AI also help us streamline scheduling and other administrative tasks, allowing our Recruitment Consultants to focus more on what they do best: connecting with people.

Our Promise to You

If you’re an employer working with us on a search, we provide high-touch, white glove service to our clients. You can be assured that the candidates we present to you have been screened by one of us, with your unique needs in mind.
