Rudolph or Santa? Elf or The Grinch? There’s a slew of quirky Christmas characters we’ve come to know and love, but have you met their workplace counterparts? We take a fun look at some of the office stereotypes with a jolly twist!

Rudolph

A pioneer who lights the way forward, ignoring the ridicule of his peers; Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is right up there with the Bransons and Zuckerbergs of the world. Ok, maybe that’s going a bit far. But an office Rudolph is that person who dares to be different, no matter what criticism they may face. A true trailblazer.

Elf

Reliable and hardworking, elves are the backbone of Santa’s workshop. They’re also great team players, working happily together to make a strict deadline. Every business needs happy elves to be successful!

The Grinch

The Grinch hated work! The whole fiscal season!
Now, please don’t ask why. No one quite knows the reason.
It could be that his head wasn’t screwed on quite right.
It could be, perhaps, that his shoes were too tight.
But I think that the most likely reason of all
May have been that his heart was two sizes too small.

Many large workplaces have at least one Office Grinch, that one disenchanted person who never seems happy; refusing to engage in a positive way with their happy elf coworkers. Think you might actually be the Grinch? Watch out for these signs it may be time to move on.

Frosty the Snowman

Like a crisp breath of fresh air, Frosty appears out of nowhere adding great spark to the office. But like any snowman, a Frosty doesn’t stay long; they might be an intern, a temp, or a contract worker helping on a big project. Even though they may only be around for a short time they can have a big impact on your business and team.

Santa

Well if it isn’t the big wig himself! In his fancy suit and the power to determine who is ‘naughty or nice’, there’s no doubting who’s boss. But Santa ain’t no Grinch! He’s a jolly leader who is generous and works tirelessly (even if it’s just one night a year) to make sure everyone gets what they deserve.
